SAD GORILLA CLUB x BREWLOSOPHY - HOW TO ISHMAEL
Event for Sad Gorilla Club’s new beer “HOW TO ISHMAEL”, a collaboration with Brewlosophy
The beer was combined with a classic Chinese ice cream 东北大板, sprinkles, and syrup. Everything packed into a trolly behind a Hello Bike. The two ice cream men hit up 5 locations around Jing’an - Rooster - TapThat - Post No Bills - Mikkeller - Brewlosophy. People were extremely happy to get some free beer and free ice cream.
Good job to

Simona De Rosa came down all the way from Beijing for a long weekend full of gigs in Shanghai. Starting the week off at Heyday Jazz Club, together with the local band. They finished the weekend of at Jazz Lincoln Center.
The job was to do a video of the full live session but we also took some photos before leaving.
Corporate portraits
I was asked by Studio Stare to take photos of some of the car designers at Volvos HQ here in Shanghai. Studio Stare has produced the shoot and did all the retouching. Also, a big thanks to Katrin for helping me assist during the day.
The designers were a mix of UI, body, and interior designers. They were a great team, easy to work with, and good attitude throughout the whole day.
Big thanks to Camille at Studio Stare for being excellent.

Day 2
The way it works in most places in China (and maybe other parts of the world?) is that they make these historical areas/villages part of a park. So you arrive at a big gate, pay your entrance fee and then the hotels, villages, transportation and everything is inside the park. It’s actually a pretty nice way to do it, the park usually provides buses to all the spots inside the area, it pays for cleaning, and so on.
Anyway, the gate area always looks kind of the same, so it feels like arriving at Jurassic Park but a Chinese version, filled with tasty food and mostly smiling old people. The point I want you to take from this is that the “check-in” procedure gets generic pretty fast, after that there’s always a short bus ride on some non-descript road, then from nowhere BAM!
Something amazing appears!

We arrived at our hotel late at night so we never saw it in daylight so waking up and getting a glimpse of this amazing place in the early morning light was a really good start to the vacation.

A meeting was delayed near Popeyes in Shanghai. I used the time to wander around the neighborhood and explore the streets. A great thing about Shanghai is that the streets change quickly, one street is a bustling main road filled with malls and people, and another is a small residential area filled with little cafes and shops.

Cold and sunny makes for great photography weather. Life in Shanghai is already post COVID19, sure people are still wearing masks, but that’s almost standard for Asia anyway.
